Bromfenac is indicated in the treatment for decreasing the inflammation of the eyes following cataract surgery in adults. This is a common condition where the eyes become swollen and red following cataract surgery.
It contains Bromfenac, which is an inhibitor of the actions of certain natural substances, such as prostaglandins in the eye that can cause pain and swelling. Therefore, it leads to the relief of eye pain and swelling after cataract surgery. Your doctor will tell you the number of drops that you have to instill in consideration of your medical condition. Sometimes, you might experience minimal eye irritation, headache, floaters before the eyes, flashes of light before your eyes, or sensitivity to the eyes. Most of these side effects of Bromfenac are not serious and resolve spontaneously with time.
Bromfenac belongs to the class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It functions by blocking the effects of prostaglandins, which are natural substances in the eye that cause pain and inflammation-:redness and swelling.
Bromfenac is used to treat ophthalmic pain. It is applied safely to cure and overcome inflammation and associated symptoms that appear after surgery of the eye.
It is an eye drop or sodium salt of bromfenac and belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is given in adults following cataract surgery to reduce eye pain and inflammation.
Bromfenac is safe if taken as prescribed. If you are suffering from any of the side effects, consult your doctor.
